Insurance
The postage options we offer include free postage for any order over $200 or over. This order will be sent without insurance added. If your bottle is damaged in transit you will not be covered for a replacement. If you would like your bottle to be covered for loss or damage please choose the option for ‘free shipping with insurance’. This option will post the item for free but charge for the insurance. The insurance cost will be charged at 1.2% of the cost of the order and will be calculated automatically and added to your cart. The insurance option is automatically selected when checking out and completing your order. If the box is deselected you will not be covered for insurance.
We also have options to insure your goods through Australia Post when choosing Express Post or Parcel Post. This is calculated by Australia Post and we are unable to calculate this manually.
Your order is unable to be left unattended by Australian law. Please do not request for the order to be left unattended as this will be ignored. Should there be no one home the order will be taken to the closest post office for collection.
Claims
If due to unforeseen circumstances your order is lost, stolen or damaged and you require to claim on the insurance purchased please do this by emailing us at enquiries@thewhiskycompany.com.au
We will lodge an enquiry with Australia Post and investigate what might have happened to the item. This process can take up to 20 days. Once we obtain the reason for the item not showing up we will claim the insurance on your behalf. Once accepted by Australia Post we will refund the order in full or replace the item.
