About the Distillery
Founded as Small Isles Distillery in 1810 this distillery is the only distillery on the Isle of Jura. It is situated in Craighouse and produces 2.2 million litres of spirit annually. Currently owned by Whyte & MacKay Jura sits in the Highlands region of Scotland which, due to its location has been named in the new regions category of Islands.
It is equipped with one semi-lauter mash tun, six stainless steel wash backs and two pairs of stills. Production is spread over 7 days a week and 8 weeks in the year a peated malt is produced.
Sales for Jura place it in the top 10 single malts sold in the world and 3rd largest in Scotland behind Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie.
