The Aberlour Distillery was founded in 1879 and is a beautiful distillery settled in a romantic setting at the foot of Ben Rinnes which is situated five miles south of Dufftown in Banffshire. The site in which Aberlour sits was an ancient distillery which produced spirit using illicit spirits many years before and was badly damaged due to neglect and fire damage.  Aberlour continues to win local and international awards making it one of the most renowned and best malts on the market. With this whisky you will experience sweetness with traces of honey and nutmeg. A warm soft whisky full of fruitiness and mouth coating delicious flavour.

The Aberlour 12 years old is a double cask matured whisky. The flavour is influenced by using ex Bourbon American oak casks and ex sherry casks for no less than 12 years. It is bottled at 40% abv helping produce a whisky that has a perfect balance of fruit and spice.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Orchard fruits of apples and pears, dark dried fruits of raisin and fig.

Palate: Pear tart, sherry notes, bittersweet chocolate, toffee sweetness, soft Christmas cake spices.

Finish: Buttery texture, dried dark fruits and white pepper and cinnamon.
