The Aberlour Distillery was founded in 1879 and is a beautiful distillery settled in a romantic setting at the foot of Ben Rinnes which is situated five miles south of Dufftown in Banffshire. The site in which Aberlour sits was an ancient distillery which produced spirit using illicit spirits many years before and was badly damaged due to neglect and fire damage.  Aberlour continues to win local and international awards making it one of the most renowned and best malts on the market. With this whisky you will experience sweetness with traces of honey and nutmeg. A warm soft whisky full of fruitiness and mouth coating delicious flavour.

The Triple Cask expression from Aberlour is a whisky you’re more likely to find in mainland Europe, though we’re rather happy that these bottles have made their way to us in Australia! As the name suggests, Triple Cask is made with whisky drawn from three varieties of cask – bourbon barrels, bourbon hogsheads and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 40% alc/vol.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Shortbread creams, espresso, milky bars, red summer fruits.

Palate: Austrian Linzer biscuits, espresso, freshly cracked black pepper and honey sweetness

Finish: Long with dried orchard fruits and hints of peanut butter.
