Kirin Fuji Single Blended Japanese Whisky (700ml)

Built in 1972 the distillery was owned by Seagrams which allowed the distillery access to funds to build the distillery with a quite modern approach. Using water that has filtered through volcanic rock allows access to soft clean and clear water. The water supply is the melted snow another fresh approach to making whisky. The distillery is quite industrial with large warehouses and modern approach to whisky making.
This is a blend of whiskies from Mount Fuji distillery only. It is composed of several single malts distilled in traditional pot stills and 3 types of single grains (heavy, medium, light) distilled in 3 types of column stills (Doubler, Batch Kettle and Column). The distilled whiskies are put into American oak casks (ex-bourbon casks), to be matured in the distillery’s cellar. A 100% Japanese whisky which was given the new term of ‘single blended’.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: A beautiful bouquet of stone fruits, peaches, nectarines, apricots with a hints of orange citrus and soft vanilla and honey notes.
Palate: Fruit punch and freshly baked pastries, hints of honey sweetness and citrus with some dried dark fruits.
Finish: Long with apple blossom, sweet fruits and pear crumble.
