The Lochlea Distillery is situated in Tarbolton in the Scottish lowland whisky region. This Ayrshire independent distillery has been producing spirit since 2018. The estate on which the distillery sits is where Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns called home from 1777 to 1784. He also worked on the farm in his younger years. The team at Lochlea grow their own grain on the 90 hectare estate. The distillery manager is John Campbell who was a very familiar name at the Laphroaig Distillery for years.
The Ploughing Second Crop is the fourth expression in a set of four seasonal limited edition whiskies from the Lochlea Distillery. The Ploughing edition is a reflection on the season of winter when the fields are prepared for the sowing season. The Lochlea Ploughing Edition Second Crop has been matured in 100% Islay 200 litre barrels. Bottled at 46% Alc/Vol.
