Redbreast Aged 27 Years Cask Strength Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey – Batch 2 (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 57.5% Age: 27 Years Old Country: Ireland
Redbreast is a brand of single pot still Irish Whiskey produced by Irish Distillers who also produce Jameson. It is the largest selling single pot still Irish Whiskey in the world. The maturation process consists of spirit being given time to mature in first fill European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry barrels and first fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
This single pot still whiskey is the oldest in the core release in the Redbreast Family. It has been triple distilled and matured in the finest ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-ruby port casks for over 27 years. It was bottled at natural cask strength of 57.5% abv. Like the batch 1 release, it is simply stunning.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Tropical fruits lead the nose, pineapple, melon and mango. Tantilizing summer berries and blood orange citrus start to creep through and combine very well with wood spice and garden herbs. Toffee sweetness and toasted walnuts round out the nose.
Palate: Ripe red fruits of plum, black cherry and summer berries balance with vanilla and cinnamon. There’s wonderful well integrated spice notes of pepper, nutmeg and nutmeg which combines with toasted oak and menthol.
Finish: Long and beautifully balanced ripe red fruits, oak spice and soft creamy vanilla. What a great dram!
