You may spell it whisky or you may spell it whiskey. Both are the same, but depending on where you are in the world will determine what’s commonplace in your country. The difference comes from different translations of the Scottish and Gaelic forms of the word.
In Ireland and America, it is typically spelt whiskey – with the ‘e’, and everywhere else including Scotland and Australia you’d spell it ‘whisky’.
