The original Starward single malt whisky which is solely matured in Australian fortified wine barrels. These barrels are hand selected, re-coopered, re-toasted and re-sized specifically for ageing the Starward spirit.

This single malt whisky produced in recently won Best Australian Whisky Innovator and crowned Best Craft Distilled Whisky in the world in 2016, NOVA is an impeccable reflection of what whisky can be.

Produced using bespoke 100% malted Australian barley. Australian red wine barrels are used for maturation, individually selected and re-coopered to take advantage of the highly variable Melbourne climate portfolio approach to maturation using 100Lt and 200Lt barrels. The barrels are not charred, to retain the wine to oak character.

Made with 100% Australian barley and bottled at 43% alc/vol.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Red fruits explode out of the glass, raspberries, strawberries and cranberries to name a few. Slight nutiness with a touch of banana and balsamic.

Palate: Almond nougat gives way to more red fruits and honey sweetness, spices develop.

Finish: Tannic with plenty of oils, toffee sweetness and chopped nuts.
