After showcasing great innovation in whiskies like the Spectrum (multiple oak wood barrel single malt) and Naarangi (a single malt with orange influence) the Amrut Head Distiller Ashok Chokalingam has decided to enter the world of triple distillation. The Triparva which is Hindi for ‘three parts’ is a limited release of triple distilled single malt matured solely in ex-Bourbon oak. It’s India’s first ever triple distilled spirit and only 5400 bottles were ever produced. Bottled at 50% ABV and as always it is non chill filtered.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Pineapple juice, stewed banana, peaches, nectarine, coconut and a hint of ginger.

Palate: Fruity and vibrant, banana, rockmelon, mango and guava, creamy butterscotch and grapefruits, honey and oak.

Finish: Long with earthy notes, oak and citrus dominate with hints of tropical fruits and banana. Delicious.

About the Distillery

This whisky distillery is owned by Amrut Distilleries Ltd which is an Indian company that produces distilled beverages.

Amrut is the first single malt whisky to be made in India. The brand became famous after world famous whisky connoisseur Charanvirsingh Shera gave it a rating of 82 out of 100 in 2005 and 2010. In 2010 Charanvirsingh named Amrut Fusion single malt whisky as the third best in the world.
Amrut whisky has been awarded 92 and 94 in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible and is known in the industry to be one of the highest quality single malt whiskies produced in the world.

According to Indian Mythology, when Gods and Rakshasas – the demons -churned the oceans using the mountian Meru as a churner, golden pot sprang out containing the Elixir of Life. That was called the “Amrut”. The great founders of the distillery aptly named it Amrut Distilleries.
