This year’s Limited Edition bottling, Ardbeg Blaaack, is a feisty bottling celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee which was founded in the year 2000. Wow, how time flies by!

It was the mission of Ardbeg’s Master Blender Bill Lumsden to honour their global flock and select casks which Ardbeg had never used before. ex-Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand were the winning casks. Chosen due to both Islay and New Zealand sharing a distinctive similarity of having sheep outnumbering the local by 7 to 1.

Bottled Non chill-filtered at 46% ABV.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Summer fruit pudding, bitter cherries and lemon zest. Baked potatoes cooked in the earth they were grown, smoked meats and toasted honey with cloves.

Palate: Summer fruits of strawberries, apricots and pears, cherry strudel, orange oils, toasted almonds and bonfire embers.

Finish: Cinnamon spice and freshly cracked blaaack pepper, bursting with orange zest and oak.
