Roseisle Distillery, inaugurated in 2010 on Scotland’s Moray Coast near Elgin, represents a significant evolution in Scotch whisky production. Funded by Diageo, one of the world’s leading spirits companies, Roseisle merges traditional whisky-making practices with cutting-edge technology, boasting a production capacity of around 10 million litres annually. Designed with sustainability at its core, the distillery features advanced energy-efficient systems, including biomass boilers, underscoring a commitment to environmental responsibility. Although primarily serving Diageo’s blended Scotch portfolios, such as Johnnie Walker, by providing a variety of whisky styles, Roseisle is a modern facility focused on innovation and efficiency, typically not open to public tours, highlighting its role as a cornerstone of modern Scotch whisky production rather than a visitor attraction.

The Special Releases ‘Spirited Xchange 2023’ Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection was created in collaboration with eight illustrators. United by their passion for exploration and discovery, the illustrators pay homage to their individual cultures through the intricate and captivating designs that adorn the packaging. Each illustration is unique and dedicated to the beloved distilleries and the stories of the spirit, creating a compelling storytelling moment that places the expression at the heart of the experience, bringing the brand to life.

Released as part of Diageo’s Special Release 2023 series this ‘The Origami Kite’ first release whisky from Roseisle has been matured in a mix of first fill bourbon and refill casks with a total maturation of 12 years before being bottled at 56.5% Alc/vol.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet chocolatey notes, sugared almonds, seas salt and a hint of blackcurrent

Palate: Lots of fruit, canned peaches, fresh figs and terry’s chocolate orange, with late spice.

Finish: Long, creamy finish.
