WhistlePig was established in 2007 when the owners purchased a farm in Shoreham, Vermont. With help from their Master Distiller Dave Pickerell they purchase stock of 10 year old blending Whiskey in Canada that was being misused. With this whisky they started to unlock the potential of the local lands and years of knowledge.

PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon gives WhistlePig’s bold approach to whiskey a sweeter spin. Born from their signature grain’s other half, it starts with a high Corn mash bill (keeping a dash of Rye of course). Six long years of age in Char #3 barrels adds layers of flavour before bottling at 100 Proof, so you can keep it 100 whether you choose Bourbon or Rye. Sip it neat or shake it in a classic. With its sweeter profile, PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon shines in citrus and sour drinks – like WhistlePig’s Barrel Aged Maple Bourbon Sour. Bottled at 50% Alc/Vol.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Bread and butter pudding, lemon citrus, dark caramel and toasted pecans. Buttery with soft vanillas.

Palate: Toasted pecan pie with milk chocolate and ginger with a hint of anise.

Finish: Long with vanilla, earthy spices and ripe stewed cherries.
