The Amber Lane story was forged in the stars. Friends and fellow amateur astronomers Rod Berry and Phil Townsend were enjoying dark rural night skies at Coonabarabran NSW during 2017 when serendipity intervened. During a daytime excursion in the region, they stumbled upon a small whisky distillery, and a dream coalesced. A sense of destiny has marked every step which has followed.

Rod has immersed himself in whisky knowledge and experience for many years with a highly attuned palate, and Phil has a strong passion for excellence in whisky production and oversees operation at the distillery. Together they have built Amber Lane into a distillery that strives to produce refined, beautiful and delicious whisky in a traditional style bringing joy and satisfaction to all who partake.

Amber Lane’s Liquid Amber focuses on the chocolate and spice elements of sherry cask whisky. Made with a combination of premium Apera and PX casks, with a touch of ex-bourbon cask. This limited edition release has been made using Apera casks casks from ex-McWilliams casks, whereas the PX casks are 30+ year old Spanish barrels from the bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla. Liquid Amber has been bottled at 46% ABV

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Honey, with a mix of floral and earthy notes.

Palate: Milk chocolate, honey, sweet toffee with notes of citrus and maple.

Finish: Long lasting, sweet finish.
