Enmore is one of the famed “Demerara Distilleries,” situated on the banks of the Demerara River. One of the defining features of Enmore Distillery is its Wooden Coffey Still, a unique and antique piece of equipment used for distillation. The Wooden Coffey Still is a continuous column still made from wood, and it imparts a distinctive character to the rums produced there. This piece of machinery has become synonymous with Demerara rums. The rums produced at Enmore Distillery are often referred to as Demerara rums, named after the region in Guyana where they are made.
