Volume: 700ml ABV: 40% Age: No Age Statement Country: Scotland
Cutty Sark is a range of blended Scotch whisky which is produced by La Martiniquaise. Originally created by Berry Bros. & Rudd using mainly Glenrothes whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. The name Cutty Sark comes from the River Clyde built clipper ship named Cutty Sark whose name came from the Scots term “cutty sark”, the short shirt [skirt] prominently mentioned in the famous poem by Robert Burns in his poem, “Tam O Shanter”.
Cutty Sark’s Prohibition Edition blended Scotch whisky is a higher strength expression, sitting at 50% abv. The ‘classic’ edition is bottled at 40% abv. This whisky was created to salute the famous Prohibition era rum-runner Captain William McCoy.
