Càrn Mòr is an independent bottling label produced by the family owned and operated Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. Morrisons own the Aberargie distillery in Perth, Scotland which is now 3 years old (January 2021). The company was originally started by an ex employee of the independent bottling company Scottish Liqueur Centre when in 2008 he gathered a group of whisky enthusiasts and began bottling and selling whisky. The Gaelic name Càrn Mòr is given to the ninth highest mountain in Scotland which sits on the Northwest Highlands. The English translation is Great Peak.

Released as part of the Strictly Limited range this Fettercairn was distilled in 2012 and sat maturing in American oak casks, it was then treated to a finish in ex-tokaji wine casks . It was bottled in 2022 by Càrn Mòr with only 900 bottles being produced at 47.5% alc/vol.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey sweetness combines with dark fruits of dates and prunes, raisins bread, stone fruits and hints of freshly shaved oak.

Palate: Treacle toffee, dark chocolate coated coffee beans, charred pineapple, creamy vanilla with some garden herb notes.

Finish: Long with stewed apples, creamy toffee, gingerbread  and soft spice.
