The Fleurieu Distillery is situated on the waters edge in the river port of Goolwa in South Australia. The environmental conditions are perfect to create a whisky which exhumes expressive maple, vanilla oak and spicy sea air. The distillery is owned and operated by Gareth and Angela Andrews who have been distilling quietly until their first release in 2017 caught the attention of many whisky drinkers world wide. Since this first release the distillery has been graced with many local and international awards for their whisky including Gold medals in Australia and Gold in the United States.

At Fleurieu Distillery they rarely release single casks.  Don Quixote is an exception.  Sourced from one of thier Barrels of Gratitude, it exhibits quintessential Apera matured whisky at cask strength.  Named after Cervante’s 16^th Century comical hero, Don Quixote was idealistic, chivalrous but caught in the disconnect between imagination and reality.  Lost in chivalrous notions, his noble intentions led to hilarious and unintentional consequences.  Misguided as he was – his passion for life was remarkable. May this cask strength whisky fire your imagination, inspiration and integrity to live a life less ordinary.  This whisky has lovely brandied fruit notes over oak and grain notes on the nose.  Malty sweetness with and overlay of stewed rhubarb and a lengthy slightly drier finish.
