The Whisky

This bottling from Signatory Vintage’s 100 Proof Collection (Edition #43) is a magnificent example of the clean, classic Highland style of Glen Ord Distillery. Distilled in 2012 and matured for 12 years, this expression gained its elegant character from a small batch of highly active First Fill ex-Bourbon Barrels. Unlike the common sherry influence in this series, the Bourbon wood amplifies Glen Ord’s natural orchard fruit and creamy vanilla notes. Bottled at the traditional 100 Proof (57.1% alc/vol), this whisky is non-chill filtered and natural in colour, offering a vivid, full bodied snapshot of a great Highland malt.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Bright and inviting. Bursts of green apple, pear drops, and blossom honey drift over creamy vanilla pod and toasted coconut shavings.

Palate: Full bodied yet crisp. A creamy surge of toffee fudge, baked banana, and sweet malt glides across the tongue, backed by cinnamon spice and a refreshing hint of lemon sherbet.

Finish: Medium to long and mouth coating. Lingering vanilla cream, malt sweetness, and a final flourish of spiced shortbread and gentle oak tannin.

The Distillery
