For nearly 20 years Westward Distillery, based in Oregon USA  have been bringing something unique and new to US Single Malt Whiskey, and are an industry leader for American Single Malts.

There are no short cuts, Westward seek perfection by creating quality and flavour in every step of our long, slow process.
Westward whisky is brewed using artisanal American Ale before being distilled twice in custom low-reflux pot stills and matured in new, lightly charred American Oak barrels.

This Single Malt has been crafted from locally malted barley and matured in lightly charred New American Oak Barrels before being finished for approximately one year in local Oregon breweries including Breakside Culmination, Fort George and Bent Shovel.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fruity, cinnamon and baking spices, then citrus

Palate: initially sharp and almost bitter, the stout comes through before opening up. thick, slightly sweet, and also slightly salty.

Finish: stout, coffee and oak with slight return to citrus.
