The Balvenie is a renowned Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Dufftown, Scotland. Owned by William Grant & Sons, it’s one of the few distilleries that still practices all five traditional crafts of whisky making on-site: malting barley, copper-smithing, coopering, distilling, and maturation. This commitment to traditional craftsmanship sets The Balvenie apart and contributes to the unique character of its whiskies.   

One of the standout expressions from The Balvenie is the 14 Year Old Bourbon Barrel, part of the “A Collection of Curious Casks” range. This whisky is matured exclusively in first-fill American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, imparting a distinctive influence on the spirit.  

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: A captivating bouquet unfolds, with fragrant vanilla, honeyed sweetness, and ripe pear notes dancing on the air. Subtle undertones of toasted oak and gentle spice tantalise the senses.

Palate: Silky smooth and creamy, the palate is a symphony of flavours. Sweet caramel, toffee, and butterscotch harmonise beautifully, balanced by a delicate touch of oak spice.

Finish: A lingering, satisfying conclusion, with lingering notes of vanilla and oak that leave a pleasant warmth.
