Kinglake ‘Core Trio’ Whisky Tasting

Due to the amazing response from our 1st Tasting Class with Kinglake, we’re doing it again featuring 4 amazing Kinglake whiskies.

Kinglake Distillery is nestled approximately 60km North East of Melbourne in a truly beautiful location. It boasts a wonderful climate for producing single malt. The whisky here is created from scratch by owners Sam Lowe & Chantal Daniels . Grinding their own malt, taking local water from a mountain stream rising on the distillery property. It’s natural, pure and totally unfiltered. 80% of the barley is farmed and malted in New South Wales and each grower is known to the team at the distillery personally. Bourbon, port and sherry barrels are all individually re-coopered to their requirements. Using their 2500 litre copper pot-still which was handmade for the distillery by Tasmania’s premier still-maker Knapp Lewer. It was engineered to produce a heavy, flavourful spirit.

Kinglake Distillery is ‘off grid’, using local water, solar powered electricity and on site tank gas – and allows them to produce truly Carbon Neutral Whisky, releasing numerous fantastic whiskies in recent years, and now have a core range of three bottles, O’Grady’s Stand, Full Noise Cask Strength, and French Oak Port Cask Single Malt Whisky.

We’re so fond of these whiskies and this gem of a distillery that we chose to to buy and bottle our own cask of Kinglake Whisky to celebrate our 10th Anniversary earlier this year.

On this tasting we’ll be joined by Kinglake Co-Owner Chantal Daniels who will talk us through setting up the distillery, their process and of course through their amazing core range of whiskies!

Kinglake Full Noise Cask Strength Single Malt Australian Whisky – 60% ABV

Kinglake ‘The Whisky Company 10th Anniversary’ Bottling – 60.2% ABV
